LACTATION SUPPORT AND COUNSELLING

Breast-feeding is THE most important form of love and bonding that a mother can offer her child. We feel very strongly about this and will help parents obtain the support they need to start breast-feeding soon after delivery and offer counsel to help continue the breast-feeding. First time mothers especially need a lot of encouragement and support to achieve optimum milk supply, maintain it and keep the bonding strong through the time they choose to breast feed and beyond.

Support is provided on site by appointment with a board certified lactation consultant and referrals are made to consultants for home-visits. Breast-feeding literature and books are available. Prenatal consults specific to breast-feeding are also available. We also support induced lactation for adoptive mothers who wish to breast-feed.
